Project meeting in Vantaa May 2007

From 10 to 13 May 07 two Italian teachers and two students took part in Comenius project meeting organized by the Finnish school in Vantaa vocational institute. The German team composed of 3 teachers and the Swedish partner ( 2 members ) met their European colleagues in the late afternoon at dinner cooked by the Finnish catering department and appreciated the meal. The following day Makinen the coordinator introduced his new web site containing all production related to step 1- the educational system organization in Finland, Germany, Italy and Sweden and the description of the different schools. During the meeting every team introduced the legislation of occupational safety in their own countries to the other participants. Even the two students made a presentation of safety procedures in the aeronautical field. Presentation was kept in auditorium where more than 50 people( teachers and students ) were. In the late afternoon the teams had the opportunity to visit Helsinki, its monuments and places of interest and take part in the Euro festival shows. On Saturday morning at hotel Tikkurilla ( remember that schools are closed on Saturday morning in Finland) the partners met in order to get the feedback of the meeting, propose a questionnaire and arrange for the next step of the project ( institutions in charge), then altogether they went to visit Suomenlinna island, The 250-year-old fortress, which has been preserved intact because of its military use, is today part of the world heritage. In 1991 it was included in UNESCO’s World Heritage List. Suomenlinna is one of Finland’s most popular tourist attractions. At the same time it is a suburb of Helsinki, with 850 people living in the renovated ramparts and barracks. In the evening the official dinner offered by Vantaa Institute, in a typical Finnish restaurant, was appreciated by everyone (even the students); it represented the conclusion of step 2 and the start for the next meeting in Lubeck, including the participation of more students.

COMENIUS SEMINAR 17.11.2006

We had a seminar in Milan 17.11.2006 as a part of Comenius school development project. In the seminar were participants from Finland, Germany, Sweden and Italy. From Italy there were people from Milan city council and local companies. The seminar was organized by Mrs. Cupini and her colleagues. I would like to thank all of you who took part of this seminar. Everything was organized very well and participants were impressed. Especially your students' presentations were very fluently and well prepared. We appreciate your work very much and we wish you very nice time during the other activities together with your European partners. Yours sincerely,
